I've been a writer for 20 years and making music for the last eight or nine years. But, a little over a year ago, I got the inclination to try my hand at painting. I needed something to fill up the empty walls in my TV room but I didn't have the money to frame anything or buy enough nice pieces to fill the room, so I bought a canvas and a few acrylic paints (since I heard they were pretty easy to use) and had a go at it. I ended up with some abstract birch trees that seemed surprisingly decent. And so, I decided to paint a series for the room. Since then, the style of these birch trees has evolved and my love for painting has too. What started out as a small exercise in frugality has grown into an all out obsession. Till then, I had always created to live, but now I believe I truly live to create. Although I have moved on to exploring other subjects as you'll also see here, I plan to continue to see where these birches take me.  I feel I owe it to them.
